Communications Specialist

Position Summary

We're looking for a Communications Specialist who's passionate about connecting people and making a big impact. Reporting to the Communications Manager, the right candidate will be someone who enjoys contributing to a supportive team, seeks to continually learn and develop, and wants to serve our internal customers with skill and integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Develop written content for internal and external platforms such as email, press releases, websites, newsletters and intranet
  • Support internal communication campaigns
  • Assist with communication projects and data management
  • Contribute to overall communication strategy
  • Connect with employees for content sourcing
  • Provide copy-editing for materials
  • Maintain online listings and respond to reviews
  • Organize communication projects/files
  • Perform other duties as needed

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, or related field
  • 2+ years of communications experience
  • Strong written and spoken English
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Quick learner of new technical skills
  • Discreet handling of confidential information
  • Service-oriented mindset
  • Video editing skills a plus
  • SharePoint knowledge a plus (especially in managing communication sites)
  • Familiarity with marketing automation software a plus
  • Knowledge of construction industry, change management principles, or written French a plus
  • Strong advocate for the Oxford comma
