Summary

To effectively control all work on the project job site to see that the project is constructed in close conformity with the plans and specifications while ensuring methods used are safe, efficient, economical, expedient, and of high quality.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Be thoroughly familiar with and understand project documentation.
• Manage day to day labour requirements.
• Be highly organized with the ability to prioritize required tasks on a day-to-day basis.
• Effectively communicate orally with all members of the construction team
• Plan and supervise the set-up of temporary field facilities such as power, offices, construction roads, etc.
• Supervise, check and/or perform the surveying and layout required for the construction of all portions of the project.
• Ensure the preparation of time sheets for all directly employed labour.
• Ensure the proper completion of office work
• In-depth understanding, knowledge and implementation of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Enforce the Trench Excavators Act as a minimum safety standard.
• Schedule all on-site activity with sub-contractors and suppliers to effectively manage each project.
• Expedite the delivery of all materials for own work and major materials for all subcontractors.
• Ensure that the work is carried out in close conformity with the plans and specifications.
• Attend and lead meetings regularly

Qualifications

• Secondary School preferred
• 5+ years in Construction Supervision preferred
