Environmental Health Officer - Relocation to Fort St. John, BC

Reporting to the Team Lead – Environmental Health and in accordance with established vision and values of the organization, the Environmental Health Officer is responsible for carrying out a diverse program of environmental health protection. Using a variety of professional and technical skills, the position reduces the incidence of communicable disease, injury and health hazards; performs technical assessments; provides consultative and education services; ensures that community development does not conflict with a healthy environment; ensures compliance with environment health legislation, policy and standards.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday to Friday / Days - 08:30 to 16:30

Fort St. John is located above the Peace River Valley, and has a diverse population of 21,000 (2021)and serves an area of approximately 69,000. The friendly, small town feel comes with big city amenities and a vibrant arts community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a health-related discipline; must have a Certificate in Public Health Inspection (Canada).
• Current valid Driver’s License.
